The Eudermia Approach
Your intralipotherapy journey, in 4 structured steps
A method based on assessing your specific fat deposits, not a one-size-fits-all protocol.
Assessment of the fat deposits
Assessment of the target areas, evaluation of fat density and suitability for the treatment. We identify realistic goals and distinguish localised fat from water retention or cellulite.
Planning the protocol
We define the number of sessions (usually 4-6), how they are spaced over time (every 2-3 weeks), the specific dose per area and any combination with other treatments.
Delivering the product
The fat-dissolving product is delivered with a micro-cannula (for some products around 10 cm long) into regular micro-points across the treatment area. Session length: 30-45 minutes. Discomfort varies depending on individual sensitivity.
Check-up and maintenance
A follow-up some time after completing the cycle to assess the result. Additional sessions if needed, with maintenance through an appropriate lifestyle.
Clinical honesty
When intralipotherapy is not the right choice
Intralipotherapy is effective, but it has precise indications. Being willing to say no to patients who would not benefit is central to how we work.
When there is true cellulite (PEFS) in "delicate" areas
Intralipotherapy is not suitable for cellulite — more correctly oedematous fibrosclerotic panniculopathy — when it is located in areas where the fat cells, once reduced, would leave the tissue without support. This is the typical case of the inner thigh or the buttocks: treating fat there can make the area look worse rather than better. Cellulite requires a different approach, focused on microcirculation, drainage and tissue quality, rather than on reducing fat cells.
When the patient is significantly overweight
If the person is clearly overweight, intralipotherapy is not the first step. A programme with a nutritionist should be built first, to reach a stable weight, and only afterwards — once the ideal weight has been reached — are any residual localised fat deposits that diet and physical activity cannot smooth out assessed. The order matters: reversing it means working on a picture that is bound to change in the short term, and therefore spending money without a stable result.
When there is already significant skin laxity
By dissolving the subcutaneous fat, intralipotherapy can expose pre-existing skin laxity, worsening its appearance. For this reason it is not indicated on its own in people who show significant skin laxity in the candidate areas. In those cases, at Centro Eudermia we discuss an integrated programme that precedes or accompanies intralipotherapy with skin-tightening and biostimulation treatments: microneedling, targeted biorevitalisation and, where indicated, fractional laser on the body areas concerned.
What to expect from the session
The injection is painful, there is no reason to say otherwise. It is carried out with cannulas 10 centimetres long: not all patients tolerate seeing such a long instrument, and full transparency about this is given at the preliminary consultation. The pain is significant during the injection itself, and in the following hours it turns into tenderness and a burning sensation in the treated area.
Bruising is expected and abundant, generally quite visible and lasting on average two weeks. It is not an abnormal side effect; it is part of the tissue's normal response to the fat-dissolving substance and to the depth of the injection. It is sensible to schedule the session well in advance of any important social events if the treated area will be exposed.
The interval between one session and the next is at least one month, sometimes a month and a half or two, because the product must complete its action before re-injecting in the same area. Overlapping intralipotherapy too soon does not increase results and introduces a risk of tissue reaction. As the cycle progresses, the intervals tend to lengthen further, precisely to give the tissue time to consolidate.
In the first 3 days after the session we recommend avoiding intense sporting activity, sauna, steam bath and sun exposure. Walking is allowed and indeed beneficial. After the first 72 hours you gradually return to your routine, bearing in mind the tenderness that is still present. Wearing comfortable clothing over the treated areas (hips, thighs) helps avoid aggravating the bruises through rubbing.
At Centro Eudermia there is a recurring principle that applies to every aesthetic treatment: there is also the "now is not the time". If the patient is about to be exposed to the sun, has an important event coming up, or is about to start a weight-loss programme, then the session is postponed. It is an ethical choice, not a commercial one.

The Eudermia Difference
Why a dermatological approach makes the difference for intralipotherapy
Performed by a physician
Intralipotherapy involves injecting fat-dissolving substances into adipose tissue. It must be performed exclusively by a physician, with knowledge of anatomy, management of any reactions and correct prescribing of the dose. It is not a procedure for beauty centres.
Honesty about the limits
Intralipotherapy is effective on well-defined localised fat. It is not an alternative to overall weight loss and does not replace diet and physical activity. We tell you honestly when it is the right solution and when it is not.
Certified products
We use only fat-dissolving substances registered for medical use, with well-established clinical documentation and a recognised safety profile.
Integrated protocols
Intralipotherapy works best when combined with other techniques (mesotherapy, biorevitalisation, microneedling) to improve skin tone and quality too, not just to reduce volume.
