1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files that the websites visited by users send to their devices (computer, smartphone, tablet), where they are stored and then transmitted back to those same sites on the next visit. Cookies are used for various purposes: carrying out IT authentication, monitoring sessions, storing information about the settings of users who access the server, collecting statistical data on browsing, and profiling.
In addition to cookies, there are other similar technologies (web beacons, tracking pixels, browser local storage) that may be used for analogous purposes. In this policy, the term "cookie" is also used to refer to these equivalent technologies.
2. Categories of Cookies
The cookies used can be classified according to various criteria.
2.1 By purpose
- Technical cookies: necessary for the operation of the site (e.g. storing language preferences, session management). For these cookies the user's prior consent is not required, pursuant to Article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code
- Analytics cookies: used to collect information in aggregated form on the number of users and how they visit the site. They can be treated as technical cookies if they are appropriately anonymised and used directly by the site operator
- Profiling cookies: intended to create profiles relating to the user and used to deliver advertising in line with the preferences the user has shown while browsing. For these cookies the user's explicit consent is required
2.2 By duration
- Session cookies: automatically deleted when the browser is closed
- Persistent cookies: remain stored on the device for a set period of time
2.3 By ownership
- First-party cookies: managed directly by the site's Data Controller
- Third-party cookies: managed by parties other than the site's Data Controller
3. Legal Basis for Processing
The processing of personal data collected through cookies is based on:
- Legitimate interest of the Data Controller (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) for technical cookies
- User's consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) for non-anonymised analytics cookies and for profiling cookies
The user may give or withhold consent to the use of each category of cookies through the cookie banner that appears on first access to the site, or by clicking the "Manage cookie preferences" link in the footer of every page.

5.1 Through the site banner
On first access to the site, a cookie banner is shown that allows you to:
- Accept all cookies
- Reject all non-essential cookies
- Customise your choices for each category individually
At any time you can change or withdraw your consent by clicking the "Manage cookie preferences" link in the footer of every page.
5.2 Through your browser
Alternatively, you can manage cookies directly from your browser settings. Below are the links to the instructions for the most common browsers:
- Google Chrome: Managing cookies in Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox: Managing cookies in Firefox
- Apple Safari: Managing cookies in Safari
- Microsoft Edge: Managing cookies in Edge
⚠️ Please note: disabling technical cookies may stop the site from working properly.
6. Disclosure and Transfer of Data
Some of the cookies used are provided by third parties (Google, possibly Meta, Cloudflare). These parties may process the user's data for the purposes set out in their privacy policies.
Transfers outside the EU: Google and Meta are companies based in the United States. The data collected by these cookies may be transferred to the United States or to other non-EU countries where these parties have servers. The transfer takes place on the basis of the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or on other appropriate safeguards provided for by Articles 44-50 GDPR.
7. User Rights
To exercise your rights relating to the processing of personal data (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection), please refer to the site's Privacy Policy.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Supervisory Authority (the Italian Data Protection Authority - Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali, www.garanteprivacy.it) if you believe that the processing of your personal data infringes the GDPR.
8. Changes to the Cookie Policy
The Data Controller reserves the right to amend this Cookie Policy at any time, notifying users on this page. We encourage you to check this page regularly so you stay aware of any changes.
This Cookie Policy has been drawn up in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), with the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC as transposed in Italy, and with Decision no. 231 of 10 June 2021 of the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali) on guidelines for cookies and other tracking tools.
