Vascular Laser in Cagliari: Couperose and Capillaries
Reduce redness, restore an even complexion.
Vascular laser is the treatment of choice for couperose, telangiectasias and visible capillaries. At Centro Eudermia in Cagliari we use vessel-selective laser technology, with immediate results and minimal recovery time.
- Vessel-selective technology
- Treatment of the face, neck, décolleté and legs
- Visible results after 1-3 sessions
- Integrated protocols for rosacea
How Vascular Laser Works
The principle is selective photothermolysis: laser light of a specific wavelength is selectively absorbed by the haemoglobin contained in the blood vessels. The light energy is converted into heat, warming the vessel until it is sealed (coagulation) and subsequently reabsorbed.
The result is the progressive disappearance of the treated capillary, with no incisions, no sutures and no significant recovery time.
Indications
Facial Capillaries
- Telangiectasias (visible dilated capillaries) of the cheeks, nose and chin
- Couperose — persistent redness and dilated capillaries, particularly common in fair skin types
- Capillaries from photodamage — visible vessels in areas chronically exposed to the sun
Vascular Manifestations of Rosacea
Vascular laser is one of the most effective treatments for the vascular component of rosacea, complementary to topical and systemic therapies.
Specific Vascular Lesions
- Cherry angiomas (small raised red spots)
- Spider angiomas (spider naevi)
- Venous lake of the lip
- Red (erythematous) post-acne or post-surgical scars
How the Session Works
The Procedure
The area is cleansed and the eyes are protected with dedicated goggles. The laser handpiece is applied to the skin, delivering energy onto the individual target vessels. The sensation is a brief stinging. Duration: 15-30 minutes.
After the Session
- • Temporary redness of the treated area
- • Capillaries may appear darker for a few days (purpura)
- • Apply a soothing cream and SPF 50+
- • Avoid direct sun exposure for 2-4 weeks
How Many Sessions Are Needed
Single capillaries or small angiomas: often 1-2 sessions
Widespread facial couperose: 3-5 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart
Vascular component of rosacea: 3-6 sessions, sometimes with maintenance

Vascular Laser in Cagliari: What to Expect
The vascular laser pathway at Centro Eudermia is designed to manage the skin's vascular component safely, with progressive and long-lasting results. Here are the stages of the treatment.
Before the session
In the 2-4 weeks before vascular laser it is essential to avoid direct sun exposure on the areas to be treated and artificial tanning. Discontinue photosensitising medications if possible (on the advice of your doctor). Come to the session without make-up. The preliminary dermatological assessment includes ruling out suspicious lesions in the areas to be treated and confirming a suitable skin type.
The day of the treatment
The vascular laser session lasts 15-30 minutes. After cleansing, the eyes are protected with dedicated goggles. The specialist applies the laser handpiece to the individual target vessels. The sensation is a brief stinging, similar to the snap of an elastic band on the skin, well tolerated thanks to the integrated cooling systems. Anaesthesia is generally not required. During the session, the treated capillaries may change colour (darker or purple): this is the sign that the laser has worked.
Recovery and final result
Immediately after the vascular laser session, temporary redness of the treated area may appear. The treated capillaries may look darker (purpura) for a few days: this is normal and shows that the laser has worked correctly. A soothing cream and SPF 50+ sun protection are applied. We recommend avoiding direct sun exposure for 2-4 weeks, and sauna and intense physical activity for 48-72 hours. The first improvements of vascular laser in Cagliari are visible 2-4 weeks after the session. The full result becomes apparent once the course is complete (3-5 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart). The treated capillaries are then gradually reabsorbed by the body.
